Decorative Arts

Decorative arts includes ceramics, glassware, textiles, and other products, and are usually contrasted opposite the Fine Arts (painting, sculpture, etc.). The value of items from the decorative arts rests, like those from fine arts, with their creator, the production method used, and the condition of the item. Damage that cannot be repaired diminishes value, as does any work that changes the original appearance of the item.
