Like baseball and basketball cards, football cards have a value determined by the status of the player and the condition of the card. Regarding condition mint, near mint, and excellent are the highest grading available and ensure the greatest value. Rookie cards are consistently more valuable than cards from later stages of a player’s career, unless it is a card from the year in which a player set an important record. Induction into the Hall of Fame adds considerably to the value of the card. Autographed cards are not as valuable as those that are not signed.
